HomeFit for Purpose
– simple advice on legal responsibilities covering Trading Standards, Fire Safety, Food Safety, Health and Safety, Disability and Access. This new scheme provides hotels, guest houses, B&Bs and other accommodation providers with advice and support on a wide range of legal issues. It enables you to self certify that your business is meeting its legal obligations and is complying with legislation and where to find further advice and support.
All checklists must be completed at the same time and returned together to the East Sussex County Council ‘Fit for Purpose’ team. You will then receive advice on any areas that need improving directly from the relevant service provider.
Once you’ve made any necessary changes to comply with the law, you will be able to self certify that your business is ‘Fit for Purpose’. To ensure that the scheme is working correctly, you may be audited after you have completed your self certification.
